How does Mist Cooling work?

Coolzone Misting Systems cool outdoor air, reducing the temperature up to 20° C.  Mist Cooling works by forcing pressurised water through specially designed nozzles on a misting fan or misting line to create an ultra fine mist.  Cooling occurs through evaporation.  A misting system should never wet.  Properly designed, a misting system will work with prevailing winds and air movement and is often combined with misting fans to move cooled air into hot areas to create cool zones.

The systems operate between 800 and 1200 psi (pounds per square inch) of water pressure. The systems will work very effectively in both low and high levels of humidity. Even at high humidity levels, the effects of the system will be felt with a rapid drop in temperature making you feel cool and more comfortable. In high humidity misting fans are recommended over misting lines. As the ultra fine mist evaporates it absorbs heat from the air and significantly drops the temperature without wetting.
